Pre-Halloween Setup

A photo from when I put up the fencing, scarecrows, and pumpkin patch a week before Halloween.

I used to loathe the wires and poles around the house, but I've grown to see them as making the display appear more rural and strange.

I think the fenceposts were very effective here. Mixed with the dried flowers and foliage, it really reminds me of the old farms that always do cornmazes and hayrides around October.

This is the I enjoy the most. Putting stuff in places. Moving it around. It’s kinda surreal with all the work but fun

Tweaking. Totally.
My favorite time is going through after it's all set up and finessing the final elements like leaves and branches, and bending cornstalks...

I love those little garden fences. They can go in many places and can make a scene.
Have one. Need to get another.

Yeah, I love what these fences have added to my display. Wish I had used them years ago.

AAahhhh! There's those giant seed heads again. : ) To me they add soooo much to that composition it's almost like they are their own entity.

Yup. I agree with you.
I love leaving all of those plants for Halloween. I'm about to cut them down only now...to seed the ground for spring. Probably should have done that already.

You really need to open your own Haunted Trail for the month of October. Would sell out every night.
