Over the years, my wife and I have moved a few times, and every time we have looked at houses she has flat out refused to even consider any house that has the Amityville windows--or any house that looks "potentially haunted," for that matter. It makes me wonder if there's some story she hasn't told me yet.
Attics, in general, are pretty damn creepy. Those and closets.
What is it about ghosts and setting up shop in those kinds of places? If I were going to spend eternity hanging around a house I'd probably choose a less boring spot.
My house is non-descript creepy. There is nothing inherently menacing about it from without.
But here and there, there are details that are subtly wrong.
Doors to certain rooms have locks on the wrong side. Rooms with only one exit have suspiciously had their windows replaced. The old dilapidated workshop in the backyard was full of arsenic.
There is a large suspicious hump in the ground next to the workshop.
the thing about those windows is that because of that movie any house with those windows screams haunted. They are almost a synonymous with the occult/ a haunting as lets say old cemeteries or pentagrams. Those windows are so burned into our minds as haunted that I'd really go out on a limb to say that might as well be the universal symbol for "This place is effing haunted"!
I wonder if you can get a better price on a mortgage if you leverage the creepy windows to lower the price
Or any house that looks like the Psycho or Addams Family house. Not sure the correct term for the style, but it kinda cant shake the association with those two iconic shows. Still doesn't hold the power as just one kind of shaped window though
I'm also with Bean. Anything that hints at haunted would be amazing. So many possibilities. Adam those are basically Gothic Victorian style houses and yes, they are a hoot but the nightmere on those is the upkeep on all the wood and painting.
My grandparents house had some cool stuff, dungeon room, strange cabinets in basement, hidden bedroom. Grandfather was an architect and craftsman and built it that way. Also put silver dollar in the center of "main room" ceiling of every house he built.

: D
Down the block we have some older homes and a lot of them have those windows.
Has there ever been another object so associated with horror/ghosts/hauntings?
I have always wanted a house with those windows.
The more haunted it looks, the better.
Our current abode has no hauntingness about it, though the attic door in the bedroom is a bit creepy.

I have a crawl space instead of an attic, so if something is up there I can't really run without knocking myself out.
TRhen the ghost/monster would laugh at me....

But Mom... it's not fair! TONY's parents are getting him a Suspiria skylight!
This is the least you could do.
YES!!! Love it, may just send this to my parents to ask for the same thing, haha.
