Headless

Saw the series premiere of Fox's Sleepy Hollow.  It was like watching a fun Halloween Special with great effects.  Though my judgment might be slightly off due to the fact that the headless effects were pretty flawless and anything with a living, convincing Headless Horseman (who uses and axe and occasionally fires a machine gun), well, it becomes very subjective for me.

I'd watch an hour of the Headless Horseman making sandwiches.

Note:  Headless Horseman Syndrome very similar to Robot Syndrome.

Glad you decided to watch! I agree the effects were pretty darn good for a TV show!! Fun stuff.

I recorded it but have not watched it yet. I figured you had. Glad to hear a good review.

Yeah, I figured this was right up your alley, Rot. It was a pretty cool premiere...and, like you said, the love of the Headless One is almost a disease; I must admit I can't get enough of him, or any incarnation of the Legend.

SO wish I could watch this. Of all the times in my life not to have even basic cable... damn you, landlord!

Cool, Yeah, I'll continue to watch it as long as they keep showing some of the old Sleepy hollow backstory thru flashbacks or whatever. Gotta get the history fix..

Anyone else think it ironic that Clancy Brown (The Kurgen) was beheaded?

Well there CAN be only one...

I didn't make that connection and that's brilliant!

I was actually sorry to see him lose his head so early in the series...but then you never know,he may be making headless cameos in future episodes.
I also like the horse's glowing eyes.

I actually liked it as well. I hated the way the rushed the ending with the song though. Damn networks.

I wish he was on a black horse. The atmosphere throughout the show was great. Although he's meant to be with an axe or sword, I loved seeing him with an assault rifle for some reason.

I really enjoyed it. Now I will have images of the headless horseman washing dishes after making a sandwich in my head today.

I haven't seen it yet. (due to my wonderful job) It was recorded though and awaiting my viewing on Saturday night.

Now I'll have two recorded shows to watch. Headless Horseman and Walking Dead.

I watched it last night, too, thanks to the magic of my DVR.

I, too, could watch the Hessian do just about anything! Love the show! I hope they don't kill it.

I loved it!! Glad you did too.
I'm happy they are weaving a huge story into it with witches and the devil and the four horseman...stacking up to be pretty interesting.

I've ranted about this already, I'm going to give a bit less than two cents, also because who gives a crap about my opinion, but here it goes anyway:

This show was decent enough for what it is. It could be SO much better.

Doesn't need to be modern. A period show set in Colonial American times would have soooo much more creepy atmosphere. Plus it would set this show apart from shows like Supernatural or Grimm or Buffy which I've already seen it compared to.

The jokes are terrible. BOY THERE SURE ARE A LOT OF STARBUCKS LOLOL. Also, a slavery joke. Blah. BLAH.

I will agree though that the Horseman looks amazing and is awesome, but I booed out loud at my tv when they decided to give him guns instead of his incredibly badass Hellfire Axe.

Now, some of the humor is fine. Crane having trouble getting out of the car was funny. But those stupid jokes have to go, as do the Horseman's guns.

Although this show could have been so much more than it is, I'll still be watching it.

I also miss Clancy Brown.

yeah man, ALWAYS with the mod.

& Poor Clancy Brown!..Always a bridesmaid, NEVER a Bride... :(

Thought it was ok. The modern day setting had me a bit concerned but I think they handled it well. Visuals were great, no complaints. I'm pretty uncommitted to anything other than walking dead and face off, occasional reality show maybe, but I may give this a run. Old headless is pretty darn hard to ignore when he's done right. Here's hoping.:)

Ha!! Does anyone recall Buckaroo Bonzai? CB was classic!

What's in the BIG PINk BOx?

The prop head in the jar was terrifying. They keep trying to shoot the headless horseman to kill him, yet not one character thought about chopping off his arms or legs.

Many moons ago I paid WAY too much money for the bootlegged soundtrack CASSETTE! Cassettes..funny.

The end title sequence...like the most perfect thing.

Bahahaha! The image of the Headless Horseman making sandwiches is now and forever stuck in my head :)
I liked the quirky personality of Icabod. And of course, the Headless wonder had me mesmerized! His movements are so forward and bold, which I think really makes the character seem that much more aggressive. I also like where the story line seems to be going. The four horsemen of the apocolypse...wow!Scary stuff! The special effects and the creatures look like they're going to be top notch :) Can't wait to see more :)

Thanks for the BB flashbacks! I still remember seeing it in the theater. Ahhh, memories.

hey, just in case anyone is interested...

after the showing of BB at the 49th NYC Film Festival,
Kevin Smith did a Q+A with Peter Weller & John Lithgow from 2011.

i'll list both links.

1st link
is a shorter version done in closeup of the actors & interviewer.

2nd link
is the longer video with FULL Q+A, plus an intro
But is filmed from further away.

Very Entertaining..
lots of Fun to watch these 2 witty & highly accomplished actors chit chat about BB.
